Biography

Diane Kordas has been performing music for children and families since 1992, and puppet shows since 1998. As a registered nurse and later as a mom she started using music and puppets to entertain and educate her patients, friends and family. She learned how to design and sew her own dolls and puppets with instruction from her mother, and enjoys making her own puppet characters for her shows. Today, her classic and original stories with puppets, music, humor and audience participation are enjoyed by children and families at libraries, schools, outdoor events, parties, daycares and preschools throughout New England.

Diane has been a selected artist for the New Hampshire Summer Reading Program five years in a row. She performs special programs for children with disabilities for the Visiting Nurses Partners in Health Program in Manchester, New Hampshire. She teaches K-5 music at St. John's Regional School in Concord and at Country Kids Daycare in Weare, New Hampshire.

Diane Kordas is a member of Puppeteers of America, Children's Music Network, and the Boston Area Puppet Guild. Thanks to the success of her children's music recording entitled Hello, How Are You?!, she has finished recording a second CD entitled Dinosaur Stomp.

Diane's CD, "Dinosaur Stomp", has been chosen Winner of the Children's Music Web Award 2005 for Best Recording for Younger Children ages 5 to 8, and Best Educational Seasonal or Religious Recording for Younger Children ages 5 to 8.
She was also recently selected as a member of the NH State Council on the Arts Touring roster and the New England Foundation for the Arts.

This multitalented and professional performer will delight and entertain your elementary and preschool audiences with engaging songs and creative puppetry!

Testimonials

"Diane's program is wonderful! Her rendition of The Three Little Pigs really captured her audience. There was an abundance of laughter and audience participation! Her puppets were a true hit."
Erika Lindquist, Leach Library, Londonderry, New Hampshire

"We had about 200 people, adults and kids, under our Children's Tent. The audience loved her and we have asked her to come back and also to another festival in Rhode Island. She was on time, performed even more than we had asked, and was very flexible. Most enjoyable! You will not regret hiring Diane."
Cathy Quesenberry, Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, Ancramdale, New York

"Thanks again for coming to the Hollis Library and putting on such a wonderful show. The children and parents were enthralled. The lights and sound system gave the performance such a professional feel. Not only was the show great but your talking with the kids and bringing out the puppets to meet the children after the show just extended our pleasure. As I said, the best compliment to get is an invitation back. As I plan for the performances in the spring, I've already got a spot for you."
Janice Ellerin, Hollis Library, Hollis, New Hampshire

"I think you are great with the kids, interacting and flexible about incorporating some of their 'bits'. You really held their attention. I also love your puppets. They (and your voices) are expressive and consistent in character."
Joanne Scobie, Lebanon Library, Lebanon, New Hampshire

"The children and staff here love Diane's songs and puppets. She captures the kids' attention with humor, action songs, and songs for any occasion. We love having her!"
Stacey McLaughlin, Country Kids Daycare, Weare, New Hampshire

Lynn Compton, Peterborough Elementary School, New Hampshire

"The teacher's couldn't believe you held the attention of the 2-3 year olds! They really enjoyed the Elves and the Shoemaker. The Pre-K group was delighted and just loved your show! I'm planning to have you back this summer!"
Amy Campbell, Harmony Learning Center, Bedford, New Hampshire

"The families loved Friendly Forest Folktales and it was a wonderful way to finish up our Summer Library Adventure. One family said it was their favorite performance of the whole summer. I thought your puppet stage, and your lighting, worked especially well, and the stories were perfect for the age group. You mixed humor with gentle messages, and the program was a real treat."
Kitty Schacht, youth librarian, Mansfield Public Library, MA.

"The girls & boys in the audience loved to hear your enchanting tales of friendship, sharing, & helping. Your focus on audience participation in you performance made the show entertaining & full of fun. You knew just what the audience would like & each little adventure was met with enthusiasm. We would love to have you back in the future."
Martha Richard, youth service librian, Richard Salter Storrs Library, MA.
